Firstly, it is normal to be confused, nervous or scared. Or maybe none of these feelings apply to you. However you're feeling, the PATHCanada team is here to make this process as stress free as possible for you. Read on for more!

1. Now is the time to ask all the questions. Receiving any kind of diagnosis can be difficult. Your PATHCanada team is here to answer any questions you have. Unsure how you contracted Hep C? Worried about how it will affect any other medication you take? Still not ready to start treatment? While we recommend starting treatment as soon as possible- not everyone is ready to start. We are here to answer your questions, and will be ready when you are!

2. If you tested positive for antibodies, and are awaiting your RNA results after doing a DBS test with us/bloodwork at your local lab; we will get in touch with you once we have these results. Our RN, Liza will get in touch with you via phone, or you may see her virtually on Zoom when you come in to your trueNorth clinic location.

3. During your treatment consultation with Liza, you will both come up with the best treatment plan for you. This is your time to ask as many questions as you need. You will also be provided with contact numbers and email addresses to get in touch with the PATHCanada team if you have any questions during the course of your treatment.

4. Once the pharmacy has received your medication, it will usually follow your regular medication dispensing schedule. Remember to take your medication with food, and do your best to not miss any. These medications have been studied and perfected to ensure that there are very few side effects. Side effects can still happen- your PATHCanada team will work with you to ensure you receive the treatment you deserve. And you deserve only the best!

5. Once you’ve finished treatment, we will do two (2) more blood tests to ensure that the treatment has worked and that you are cured of the Hepatitis C virus. We will also ensure that you’re well equipped to ensure that you do not get reinfected.
